President Roosevelt's first changes to America is his Emergency Bank Act, he closed all the banks in America for a four day 'bank holiday'. Every bank was inspected, he only allowed the honest, well-run banks to reopened. And he lent some money to the banks to help them. When he restarted the bank, he said "I can assure you that it is safer to keep your money in a reopened bank than under the mattress." at his famous fireside chats.

It is a good move when the banks are reopened, people put their money back into their accounts. The well-run banks could now lend the money to some well-run business - this would create jobs as businesses could be expanded.

Then President Roosevelt second changes to America is his Economy Act, this cut everyone working for the government, the army, the navy and the air forces' salary by 15%.

It was a good move for saving nearly a billion dollars, which could now be used to helped the umemployed people.
